First of all; introductions,
Hi everyone, my name is Jacob (or Jake if you'd prefer, I'm not bothered either way), and this is my first blog.
I am a very late convert to the process of blogging, I don't even have a Twitter at the moment (shocking, I know). However, now that my degree is finished and at the urging of many lecturers and colleagues, it is time for me to embrace the Twenty-First Century so that I can begin to share and improve my writing, and get my name onto the net.
So, over the next few weeks, whilst frantically searching for jobs (like every other Uni leaver), and trying to avoid moving back in with my parents, I will make it my goal to spend an hour or so each day working on the blog.
To this end, I will try and post something (no matter how small) at least every other day, whether it be new work, pieces I've previously submitted to zines/competitions, or a story from the backlog of writing I've done and then forgotten about during University. I will also use this time to read and respond to all comments, edit the look of the blog, and link it to other forms of social media, including Twitter (*gasp*).
Hopefully over the following months you will be able to see The Olshan Sphere change for the better as my own grasp of blogging and blogger improves. Once again, any advice or tips which you could give me during these early stages would be greatly received.
Thanks for reading and check back again tomorrow when I will post up my first piece of writing; a short Slipstream piece which was included in Falmouth University's WiTH magazine.
Take care,
Jacob.
